Skyterra will always be different from other wellness retreats because of our boutique and exclusive experience. We can currently accommodate up to 16 guests.
Single women love Skyterra. The environment is very safe because it is gated and secure. We are in a secluded mountain setting where you can relax and be yourself. In fact, single people are the majority of our guests at any given time. Many of our single guests make new friends and keep in touch after returning home – some plan to come back at the same time next year to experience Skyterra together a second time.
Many people come to us wanting to lose a significant amount of weight. If you have been afraid to work out and live your life fully because of your weight, then this is the place you want to be. The founders of Skyterra know what you are feeling, and that’s why they created a place where women and men of all shapes and sizes would feel free to be themselves while embracing new ways to be fit and healthy. This is a judgement-free zone!
Absolutely! Our revolutionary Functional Movement Assessment will ensure you have a safe experience while here. We will guide you in how to do the right exercises with the proper form not only to ensure you get a great workout, but to help you develop a fitness plan that allows you to strengthen any weaknesses you might have. Many people have bad knees because of issues with how they move. We can assess that and guide you toward more effective and safe fitness routines. (Plus, we have Aqua classes, which are perfect for people with bad knees.)
Because our team starts by doing a Functional Movement Assessment and scales the experience to your specific fitness level, guests of all ages love the Skyterra experience. You will never be asked to do something that is impossible. We focus on efficiency and effectiveness, which surprisingly, does not mean it has to be the hardest workout to get the most benefit! Whether you are a relatively fit 65-year old woman or a 30-year-old man who wants to lose 50 pounds, you will find Skyterra has developed the perfect fit for you. The camaraderie at Skyterra flows from the graciousness of our team. Everyone is welcome, and all our guests have told us they are amazed by the feeling of inclusiveness while here.
We are able to accommodate all types of dietary restrictions. Whether you are gluten intolerant or just hate seafood, we can plan the meals to ensure you get delicious, fresh fare that will keep you satisfied.
Yes. While we do focus on outdoor fitness because research shows it is more sustainable and has benefits that go beyond physical fitness, we have an indoor gym with exceptional equipment. We also like to bring the outdoors in. Our “treehouse” is a screened porch perched high among the trees. This is where we do yoga, meditation, and mobility classes.
As soon as you drive through the gates you will feel what we felt when we chose this location. We meet you at the gate to guide you to your lodge. As you drive up a long, curving road lined by beautiful tress you will see the open field where we practice outdoor yoga. As we turn into the driveway of your lodge you will be captivated by how beautifully it blends with the mountain setting. Take a deep breath and feel tension begin to slip away. Skyterra is a true escape from the hectic non-stop noise of the outside world. The grounds are filled with mountain trails that lead to waterfalls. This is the land of a thousand waterfalls so we had to make sure we had a few of our own. Do you love yoga? Imagine doing this on a screened porch perched among the trees, what our team likes to call “The Treehouse.” If you are looking for a place to refuel and replenish, you will find that place at Skyterra.
Unlikely. Both single men and husbands with wives appreciate what Skyterra has to offer. If one day you want to go off on your own for a little fishing, we can make that happen too.
Casual clothes good for workouts, hiking, and outdoor adventure are perfect. You can wear your casual workout clothes to dinner too. In the fall and winter you will want to wear layers so you can adjust as you workout. Sometimes your feet will get wet on hikes, so we recommend bringing some water shoes along. Most people also bring hiking boots and at least two pairs of athletic shoes (one pair that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy). Bring your bathing suit, sunscreen, and a hat that you feel comfortable hiking in as well. Be sure to check out our complete what to bring list before arrival.
Depending on the week you would like to come, we can almost always accommodate a well-behaved dog. There is an extra charge for this. When we open our individual cottages later in the year, some of these will be specifically allocated for those who want to bring their furry friend along.
Christmas this year. Of course we will have a delicious holiday meal. We will be announcing some special holiday offerings soon, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter.
